PeterJStein Sings: MY MUSIC CLIPS

The Wings of Time

(Peter J Stein)
October 31, 2008
Written, arranged, performed, and produced by Peter J Stein
This song, from the seed of an idea to a satisfying studio-recorded ballad, was completed in under 3 weeks. The tune was not created in a vacuum of space. The recording engineer at MRE Studios was instrumental in helping to keep the song free of devices, encouraging me to be as natural as possible, thus allowing the song to emerge and unfold.
Time it speaks of golden clouds, and highways far above me,

Prisons guarded by black bars, how can I make her love me,

But eagles soar where mountains rise, and rain falls in the valley,

I long to see your big brown eyes, you’ve grown so old without me,

verse 2:

See the star that glides through space, as it bathes the Earth in sunlight,

Feel the rain upon your face. Streams are winding through the twilight,

My love is fair with flowing hair, her eyes aglow with fire,

I will fly on the wings of time, and I can’t get much higher,

Instrumental: verse and chorus

verse 3:

I feel lucky for today, for all the life I’ve tasted,
I hear Mother Nature say, not one moment’s ever wasted,
My love is fair with flowing hair, a sparkling flame her smile,
And I’ll fly on the wings of time, I’ll see her in awhile
Yes I’ll fly on the wings of time, ‘til I see your sweet, sweet smile.
Instrumental and fade
